Over 2,500 police Officers Assigned for The First T20 match:

The extensive security measures are being implemented following a call by right-wing groups for a match-day shutdown, protesting alleged attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh since the Sheikh Hasina government fell in August. This move reflects the escalating tensions surrounding the situation and the need for increased protection during the event.

Gwalior Zone Inspector General of Police Arvind Saxena said, “ On the day of the match, personnel will be on the streets from 2pm. They will be on duty till spectators reach home after the game is over. After prohibitory orders were invoked, monitoring has been tightened. We are keeping an eye on social media as well.”

On Thursday, the district magistrate issued prohibitory orders to prevent protests and the dissemination of inflammatory content, particularly on social media, to maintain peace and ensure a smooth match. These orders will remain in effect until October 7. The upcoming game is set to take place at the Madhavrao Scindia International Stadium, which has a seating capacity of 30,000. This precautionary measure aims to create a secure environment for the event.
