Mumbai Indians have launched the anthem for the inaugural edition of the Women’s IPL with a tagline “Ali re”. Mumbai Indians is one of the most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League. The men’s team has won 5 IPL titles and is arguably one of the best teams in the history of the T20 Leagues. The Women’s team will also look to carry forward the legacy built by the men’s team.
The skipper Harmapreet Kaur recently said in an interview that she would like to take the legacy of the team forward and is very excited to lead the franchise.
“I will also try to follow the same legacy. We will also let the winning momentum keep going on. The way Rohit’s team was doing. That aggressive cricket they were playing,” Kaur said.
Mumbai Indians is not just about winning titles. The franchise is closely involved with the fans and has made a huge caring Mumbai Indians family. For the third straight year, Mumbai Indians’ IPL franchise had the highest overall interaction on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter in 2020. The IPL teams and athletes were faced with the challenging task of interacting with their fans through digital innovations as the 2020 season of the league was played in challenging conditions for sports globally as a result of the pandemic and the forced limitations on in-stadium fan engagement opportunities. So the fans are always there to support their team in any condition.
With all the matches of the WPL held at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and Brabourne Stadium at Church Gate, Mumbai Indians will get home support everywhere they play. Mumbai Indians will take on the Gujarat Giants in the opening encounter of the WPL.
