Orange Cap Holder of IPL 2020: Updated After KKR vs MI Match 5

Faf du Plessis continues to top the Orange Cap chart. But the table has changed quite a bit after the match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. And the credit goes to Mumbai Indians batsmen.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss today and decided to bowl first. The call seemed to be right for the initiative when they were able to send Quinton de Kock for just one run. But Rohit Sharma was in a destroying mood today. Sharma who looked out of touch in the previous match smashed a 54-ball 80. His innings included three fours and six maximums. The KKR bowling unit looked completely clueless in front of him. He along with Suryakumar Yadav built a partnership of 90 runs which created the base for Mumbai Indians to set a daunting target of 196.

With Faf du Plessis still leading the highest run-scorers’ list, Rohit Sharma is standing at the second position followed by his two colleagues in the top ten. Suryakumar Yadav (47) and Saurabh Tiwary (21) who provided the required support to their skipper are now placed at 7th and 8th places respectively. On the other hand, none of the Knight Riders batsmen could manage to perform and Pat Cummins ended as their highest run-scorer of the fixture with 33 runs. Cummins is at 18th standing now.
