Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called for strategic development in the vicinity of the International Cricket Stadium that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is gifting to Varanasi. The stadium, which comes with a budget of Rs 450 crore and a seating capacity of 30,000, is set to be a momentous addition to the city’s infrastructure.
During a review meeting with officials at the circuit house, Chief Minister Adityanath emphasized the need for planned development around the upcoming stadium. He proposed exploring options for hotels, restaurants, and other commercial activities in the vicinity to enhance the overall experience for visitors.
Foundation to be laid on 23rd September
The foundation stone for the International Cricket Stadium is set to be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 23. The event is expected to be attended by prominent cricketers and officials from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the UP Cricket Association. Additionally, performers from the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsava (cultural festival) will entertain the attendees, and prizes will be distributed to the winners.
The Chief Minister also directed officials to ensure foolproof security and a well-planned traffic management system for the events to minimize inconvenience for participants and citizens alike. Adityanath stressed the importance of promptly completing all preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit, maintaining proper sanitation, and offering seamless transportation for participants after the Kashi Sansad Sanskritik Mahotsava.
Among those present at the meeting were UP ministers Anil Rajbhar, Ravindra Jaiswal, and Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu, as well as MLAs Neelakanth Tiwari and Awadhesh Singh. Commissioner of Police Ashok Mutha Jain, Divisional Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma, and District Magistrate S. Rajalingam also attended the meeting.
As Varanasi eagerly awaits the inauguration of the International Cricket Stadium, the city is poised to witness a significant boost in its sports infrastructure and cultural vibrancy, thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the proactive approach of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
