Indian Premier League will be a 10-team affair starting this year. The mega auction in February saw Punjab Kings emerging as the most balanced side with some interesting picks. Punjab Kings recently named their new captain Mayank Agarwal and would be eager for a fresh start. “I have been at Punjab Kings since 2018 and I take a lot of pride in representing this fantastic unit. I am delighted to be given the opportunity to lead the team,” Agarwal said in a press release issued by the franchise.
Punjab Kings will kick off their IPL 2022 campaign on March 27 with a match against Mumbai Indians. They will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. This match will be the second game of the day followed by the first game between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians. Punjab will play their last match of the league against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 22 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
