On November 3, 2024, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant achieved a significant milestone by becoming the third cricketer in history to hit 50 sixes in the World Test Championship (WTC).Â
Pant achieved this feat during the third Test match against New Zealand, batting at No. 5.Â
He struck his first six on the third ball he faced, ultimately contributing 60 runs off 59 balls, including three sixes. This remarkable performance places him alongside Rohit Sharma and England’s Ben Stokes in this exclusive club.
India has never lost a three-match Test series at home by a 0-3 margin. Although their home dominance was broken by the Kiwis last week, the Men in Blue now face the challenge of avoiding a series whitewash to protect their reputation.
WTC Sixes Record
The record for the most sixes in the WTC is held by Ben Stokes, who has smashed 81 sixes in 50 matches.
Rohit Sharma follows him with 56 sixes in 37 matches. Pant’s achievement underscores his aggressive batting style and ability to change the course of a match with his explosive hitting.
