Royal Challengers Bangalore are set to begin a new journey in the Indian Premier League as they will be led by a new captain. Virat Kohli captained the side since 2013 before he decided to step down form the role after IPL 2021. The auction saw the franchise roping in some of the interesting picks that could be potential captain candidates of RCB. Reportedly Bangalore will name their new captain on March 12.
Meanwhile, the BCCI released the IPL league stage schedule and according to the same, RCB will play their first game of the season against Punjab Kings on March 27. It will be the second match of the day and will be played at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. On March 19, Bangalore will play their last match of the phase against Gujarat Titans, one of the newly formed franchises of the 10-team league. This match will be played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
