Defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape will ignite the tournament’s fiery proceedings as they face off against Joburg Super Kings in the opening clash at Gqeberha. This time, the tournament introduces some exciting changes, enhancing the fan experience while maintaining the pulse-pounding cricketing action. 

Changes in SA20 2024 Format 

A key highlight of the upcoming season is the shift in scheduling. Double headers will exclusively grace Saturdays, treating fans to a day filled with intense cricketing showdowns. Additionally, Sundays will see an early 3 p.m. local time start, strategically designed to facilitate attendance and provide a more immersive experience for the passionate cricketing community.

In a notable departure from the previous format, the tournament’s playoff structure has been revamped. The journey to the ultimate victory will now feature three playoffs: an eliminator and two qualifiers, culminating in the grand finale on February 10. This change injects an additional layer of excitement as teams battle their way through these high-stakes encounters.
