Trinbago Knight Riders’ (TKR) opener Shaqkere Parris showcased his immense power, smashing a gigantic 124-meter six during the 19th Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 match against the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW). The match took place at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad, on Wednesday, September 18.
The remarkable shot came in the third over when Parris took on Gudakesh Motie’s full delivery. Swinging across the line, Parris sent the ball sailing over the deep mid-wicket boundary, landing it on the roof of the stadium. The shot was one of the biggest highlights of the CPL season.

Russell and David Lead TKR to Victory
At 89 for 5 in 15 overs, TKR looked to be in a precarious position, but Russell and David’s unbeaten 60-run stand off just 26 balls steered their team to a five-wicket victory with four balls to spare. Russell hammered 36 off 15 balls, hitting one boundary and four sixes, while David played a composed innings, scoring 31* off 24 balls with one four and two sixes.
GAW’s Struggles and Romario Shepherd’s Heroics
Earlier, TKR had won the toss and opted to bowl, restricting GAW to 148 for 7 in their 20 overs. Akeal Hosein struck early, dismissing Kevin Sinclair for nine. Tim Robinson top-scored with 34 off 28, but the middle order, including key players like Shai Hope (5), Shimron Hetmyer (7), and Moeen Ali (11), struggled to contribute.
Romario Shepherd provided a late surge for GAW, scoring a quickfire 51 off 24 balls, smashing three boundaries and four sixes. Dwaine Pretorius remained unbeaten on 21 off 25 balls, helping GAW post a respectable total. Sunil Narine and Waqar Salamkheil were the standout bowlers for TKR, each picking up two wickets.
