Strategic Move: South Africa Drops Coetzee and Jansen from T20 Squad, Eyes Test Series Prep

The highly anticipated India vs South Africa series has already started. The T20 series is going on. On December 14, India and South Africa met for the third T20 international. This is going to be the decider match of the series. In this match, South Africa made a change. Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee were released from the squad. 

Jansen and Coetzee Released from the Squad:

After ending the World Cup on home soil, India traveled to South Africa for a long tour. The tour was inaugurated with a three-matches T20 series. The first match was washed out due to heavy rain. The second match was named after South Africa. In that match, Gerald Coetzee picked up three wickets in 32 runs. That was a dominating performance. Another South African bowler Marco Jansen took 1 wicket in 39 runs. 

In the final T20, South Africa made a change. Gerald Coetzee and Marco Jansen are released from the squad. As per reports, they have been released so that they can prepare themselves for the upcoming test series against India. It is heard that, both the players will be playing domestic games to prepare for the longest format of cricket. 

India and South Africa will face each other in the first test on December 26. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and other senior players will join the squad ahead of the test series. After a long break after the World Cup, Virat and Rohit are coming back to the team. On the other hand, South African skipper Temba Bavuma will join the test squad ahead of the series.

For the third T20 international, India and South Africa are locking horns at the Wanderers Stadium. After winning the toss, South Africa opted to field first. India has a shakey start. Opener Shubhman Gill got out after scoring only 12 runs in 6 balls. He smashed 3 boundaries. Struggle continued for the team. Tilak Verma dismissed on a golden duck.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Suryakumar Yadav are carrying the innings. Jaiswal is batting on 28 runs in 18 balls including 3 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries.
