They get the chance to showcase their talent on the big stage. Bangladesh Players also take part in this tournament. They are a crucial part of the franchises. But for the next edition, their participation is still doubtful in IPL.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has still not decided if the players will play in the tournament. Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahim, and Shoriful Islam are set to appear in the IPL auction on December 19. Mustafizur’s base price is set at 2 crore. Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam will appear in the auction with a base price of 75 Lakh and 50 Lakh.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board is still being prepared to release them for the whole season. A home series is conflicting with the IPL schedule. There is a question mark on their participation. BCB cricket operation chairman stated this matter. Jalal Yunus said, “If the IPL conflicts with our national team in that case their (cricketers picked in the IPL players auction) chances are very slim to play the full tournament.”

Further, he added, “Furthermore, there is T20 WC in June and we want to be careful in handling them as we need to think about their injury management, and for that reason, we want to take steps by taking everything into consideration.”

Clash with International Schedule:

IPL is crashing with the international schedule of Bangladesh Cricket. The T20 World Cup will commence on June 4. Because of that, IPL will start early this year. As per reports, IPL is hoping to start on March 24. Bangladesh will be playing a series against Sri Lanka. The series was scheduled to happen at the end of February. But that changed because of the BPL schedule.

The IPL is likely to end in the first week of May. In April-May, Zimbabwe will travel to Bangladesh for a series. The series contained two tests and five T20s. So, their participation in the upcoming IPL is still a question. IPL prioritizes the payers who will be available to play the entire season. Now, it is time whether the Bangladeshi players will be available or not.
