Royal Challengers Bangalore won third match of the season against Kolkata Knight Riders. The match saw once again a spectacular innings from AB de Villiers. The mainstay of RCB batting went on to take the full advantage of the death overs and the social media went gaga over it.

There was initial blows as Bangalore lost their openers quickly including Virat Kohli. Devdutt Padikkal remained there as a support system to Glen Maxwell before getting dismissed for 28-ball 25. Glen Maxwell smashed another brilliant half-century but missed the chance to utilize the death. But Bangalore had one of their best batsmen still in the middle. AB de Villiers took full advantage of the slog and scored 43 runs in last three overs of the RCB innings out of a total of 56 runs. A few shots did come from Kyle Jamieson but it was de Villiers who took the RCB score beyond 200.

While the fans went crazy, started making memes, there were celebrities as well who started tweeting on the same. One of the viral memes on ABD showed him as the Indiranagar Ka Gunda. Some asked others to learn from ABD about how to bat on such pitch. The cricketer turned commentator Isa Guha wrote, “Can someone please talk to AB about playing in the World Cup? 🙏🙏🙏😬 #Genius #ABdeVilliers #IPL2021”. On the other hand Harsha Bhogle opined how South Africa must be thinking of including the genius in the professional cricket again in some way. “Surely South Africa, you have to find a way to play @ABdeVilliers17 in the #T20WorldCup. Surely.”
