Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir Lighten the Mood During Team India’s Net Practice Before Pune Test

As Team India gears up for the upcoming Test match in Pune, players are not just focusing on their skills but also on building team spirit. Recently, star batsman Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were seen sharing light moments during a net session, highlighting the importance of camaraderie in high-pressure situations.

Building Team Spirit Through Laughter

Head coach Gautam Gambhir and batting virtuoso Virat Kohli were spotted having fun together during Team India’s net practice on Tuesday before the second Test match against New Zealand in Pune. As India looks to recover from losing the first Test by eight wickets in Bengaluru, the former colleagues, who have had their share of on-field clashes during the IPL in the past, appeared to enjoy each other’s company. Their lighthearted banter was a welcome sight for the spectators.

The crew seems calm but concentrated, with both legends contributing a wealth of experience. The lively conversation between Gambhir and Kohli gave the event a more upbeat feel. Assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate said Team India is hopeful that Rishabh Pant, who had a knee injury in the first Test, will be able to continue as the wicketkeeper in the second Test. Pant’s fitness is still a major concern as the home team looks to even the three-match series in Thursday’s Test in Pune.

Indian Team Dynamics For 2nd Test

In the first Test, India got off to a difficult start after getting bowled for just 46 runs. But Pant and Sarfaraz Khan, who put up a strong 177-run partnership, made an incredible comeback. Sarfaraz, who took Shubman Gill’s place in the starting lineup, demonstrated his abilities by amassing a remarkable 150 runs.

Gill is anticipated to return for the second game, which presents a selection issue for Team India following Sarfaraz’s first Test century. Despite KL Rahul’s recent patchy batting efforts, the team management has stated that they still support the senior batsmen.

“There’s certainly no concerns about KL,” affirmed ten Doeschate, “He’s batting nicely, he’s in a good mental space, but yeah, we’re certainly going to have to fit seven pieces into six spots for this Test and look at the pitch now and decide what’s going to be best for the team.”
