“We learned from our mistakes” UAE Women’s Captain Esha Rohit Oza Talks About Losing Match Against India Women

The Women’s Asia Cup T20 2024 is being held in Sri Lanka. The tournament started on 19 July, 2024 and will go on until July 28. The T20 Series started with a match between Nepal Women and UAE Women. India Women and UAE Women came together for the third match at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla. Esha Oza says this as India defeats UAE in Womens Asia Cup 2024.

In the match, the United Arab Emirates Women’s team won the toss, opting to bowl first. The Indian Women scored 201/5 in 20 overs. The UAE Women countered this with a lousy 123/7 in 20 overs, losing the match by 78 runs. India’s Richa Ghosh became the Player Of The Match. Richa scored 64 runs in 29 balls. She had an impressive strike rate of 220.69.

UAE captain Esha Rohit Oza had a forgettable performance in the match. Oza scored 39 runs off 36 balls, maintaining a strike rate of 105.56. She also bowled for 2 overs, conceding 26 runs and taking no wickets. She had an economy rate of 13.

In the post match ceremony, Esha Oza addressed the audience, speaking about her experience in the match. She also admitted that her side had done better than the last time, learning from their mistakes.

“It was a great experience. Lot of learnings. From the Indian innings, we saw how to build an innings. And also saw how to finish. Using this as an experience to help us learn that. You’re never satisfied when you’re playing such an opposition because the batting runs deep.” Esha said.

While talking about the early wickets, “Three wickets is a great start but you need to take all 10. We put up a better score against a better side – that means we learnt from our mistakes” she added.
