In the group stage match of the ongoing Asian Games 2023 being held in Hangzhou, China, Nepal set off a massive score against Mongolia outwitting the Mongolian cricket team. Nepal became the first ever team in Asian Games to cross the 300-mark by chasing a total of 314 with a loss of 2 wickets. Mongolia chose to field first putting Nepal to bat in the first innings. Despite a slow start, Nepal put it to the chase and created a record-breaking moment.

Nepal’s all rounder Dipendra Singh Airee scripted history on 27th September by smashing the fastest half century in T20I Cricket. The 23-year old cricketer took just nine balls to break Youvraj Singh’s 16-year old record which the latter made during the 2007 World Cup against England. Dipendra continued his unbeaten knock of 52 off 10 balls, hitting a total of eight sixes. With Dipendra Singh, Kusal Malla also rewrote history by becoming the fastest player to score a ton off 34 balls in T20I Cricket.
All about Dipendra Singh
Dipendra made his home debut in 2019 against the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). He played his first ever ODI and T20I match against Netherlands and the Dutch respectively, in the same year during 2018. Back in 2017, the 23-year old unleashed his batting prowess in the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup against India. His all round performance captivated a wide audience and this made him earn a call-up for 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two competition.
The young sensational player has scored above 1,100 runs at a remarkable average of 35.58 with a strike rate of 132.25. In all, he has played 52 ODIs and 44 T20Is in his five year career with a record of one century and five half centuries.
