Why was Ngidi missing?
Chennai Super Kings lost one match and won one which means this match against the Royals is going to be an important one for them. Even for Rajasthan Royals this is a significant one as they will be also targeting their second win of the season in their third fixture. All of the teams in IPL have to face some impact of pandemic. In most of the case, some of the overseas players could not feature in the first match due to the protocols. They arrived in India and then went for isolation. Then they had to be tested negative before they could join the squads. The story of Ngidi is the same.
Lungi Ngidi to join CSK soon
Lungi Ngidi, the South African fast bowler yesterday posted a story with the caption, ‘And, I’m out.’ The Chennai Super Kings on the other hand, posted a video of Ngidi joining the camp. The franchise wrote, “Locked and loaded for the season! #WhistlePodu #Yellove 🦁💛 @NgidiLungi”.
Ngidi, who had featured for the national team in the ODI series against Pakistan arrived in India in the first week of April. Then he was following the quarantine guidelines before joining the team camp. Clearly since he joined the camp yesterday, he would be available for selection in the upcoming match of Chennai Super Kings. How the team will manage to fit it that’s another topic of discussion. The team may decide to drop Dwayne Bravo and play the attacking pace bowler, Lungi Ngidi. In the video shared by Ngidi, he can be clearly seen bonding with other players and staff of Chennai Super Kings team.
