India’s fielding coach, T Dilip, has showered praise on Virat Kohli for his unmatched intensity and commitment on the field following India‘s victory over Bangladesh in the Chennai Test. According to Dilip, Kohli remains a driving force for the team, not just as a batsman, but as a fielder who sets the standard with his incredible energy and dedication, both in practice sessions and in matches.
Dilip, who has been instrumental in improving India’s fielding unit, especially under the hot and humid conditions of Chennai, took the opportunity to commend Kohli’s approach to fielding, emphasizing that his preparation and effort during training are identical to what he brings to live games.
“Virat’s Intensity Is Unmatched”
Speaking to BCCI TV after the match, Dilip noted, “With Virat Kohli, you won’t find any differences between the way he practices and the way he fields. The intensity which he replicates in the match is the same in the practice session.”
Despite being a veteran in the team and having achieved numerous milestones, Kohli continues to lead by example in his fielding. Whether it’s during high-pressure matches or in training drills, Kohli’s zeal and commitment to his craft remain undeterred.

While Dilip also mentioned other players like Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, and Mohammed Siraj for their excellent fielding in the Chennai Test.
“It is tough for me to really mention it openly but as of now it is very evident that Yashasvi Jaiswal with that brilliant catch at gully and a lovely catch at short leg made himself really pushing that spot, ” said T Dilip in a chat on BCCI TV.
“Other thing I really liked about Kl Rahul‘s catch at mid-on as he showed great reflexes. These are execution wise but when it comes to effort, especially in the Chennai weather, putting those dives was Siraj. For a fast bowler to do that is really commendable. These 3 and you know Virat Kohli,” he added.
