“Yash Dayal has tremendous potential.” Parthiv Patel Backs Yash Dayal for His Debut Against Bangladesh in the Second Test

The second Test match between India and Bangladesh is just one sleep away. Kanpur’s Greenpark Stadium is all set to host the second Test match of the series. India gave a dazzling start after registering a massive win of 280 runs. Now they are rolling towards the second Test and a lot of anticipation is going about India’s playing xi. Former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel has shown support for Yash Dayal. He believes Dayal should debut for India in the upcoming match against Bangladesh.

Parthiv Patel Backed Yash Dayal:

Over the years, Team India showcased a tremendous display in the Test format. They have conquered the longest format. Apart from batting, bowling unit has become exceptionally powerful. But still, there is a lack of a mighty left-arm pacer. Sometimes that gap is felt in the Indian team. Former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel thinks Yash Dayal can be great option.

In the domestic cricket, Yash Dayal has done a great job. The talented left-arm pacer appeared in 24 first matches and secured 76 wickets. In the IPL, he has 28 wickets in his bag. His inclusion in India’s pace bowling unit will help the team to play more attacking games.

While talking about this, he said. “This will be a great chance to see a left-armer. It has been a while since India had a left-arm seamer, so I feel if he gets the chance, it will be good. We will know. Yash Dayal has tremendous potential. So I don’t think there is harm in trying.”

Jurel and Sarfaraz Have to Wait:

In the five-match Test series against England earlier this year, Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan have made their debut. Sarfaraz had a dreamy debut after securing three half-centuries against Ben Stokes’s led side. On the flip side, Jurel also made a classy debut and scored 190 runs in 4 innings.

But Rishabh Pant made an amazing comeback in India’s squad in the first Test against Bangladesh and scored a remarkable century. Along with an exceptional batting display, he secured brilliance behind the stumps. Along with it, KL Rahul is also in the squad. He might not be in his best form but having a player like Rahul is always an asset.

While talking about Sarfaraz and Jurel’s chances, Parthiv Patel said, “I don’t think Sarfaraz and Dhruv will make a comeback to the side. Rishabh has just made a comeback. Both of them are very very talented players and very much ready for Test cricket. But they will have to wait for their chances.”
