Jadeja’s Unbelievable Knock and Ajay Jadeja’s Praise:

Indian fans are back in experiencing the classic red-ball cricket. As they stepped in the first Test match against Bangladesh, they had a shaky start. While batting first, they kept losing wickets consecutively. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul got dismissed early.

India was under pressure after losing six wickets quickly. Coming to bat at that moment, Ravindra Jadeja played anchor’s role. While providing stability in the innings, he completed his half-century and ended the day with an unbeaten 86 runs in 117 balls. In this exceptional innings, he smashed 10 boundaries and 2 over boundaries.

Ajay Jadeja highlighted that the spin-bowling all-rounder has shown greater consistency with the bat compared to many top-order batters in recent years. He emphasized Ravindra Jadeja’s valuable contributions. He said, “He has gotten better day by day and since the time he has got the belief, his batting average is better than many of your top-order batters, and especially if you see in the last little while, he has gone far ahead. He has given stability to this team.”

Later he added, “We are praising Ashwin a lot but Ravindra probably gives more stability to this team. I am not just talking about this innings. If you see the last few years, Ravichandran Ashwin has the same batting skills but he plays a little flamboyantly, and the averages also reflect that over a period of time.”

On the Crucial Partnership:

Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin formed a remarkable partnership, both scoring half-centuries and Ashwin eventually reaching a century. Their unbeaten 195-run stand was crucial, helping India to 339/6 by day’s end. Ajay Jadeja noted that Jadeja and Ashwin took different approaches during their innings, highlighting their contrasting styles and contributions.

While talking about it, he said, “If you had sent him (Jadeja) ahead today, his job was to play responsibly, and since Ravichandran Ashwin came down the order, his anger was justified. He started with anger but ultimately it was about the partnership. Ravindra has scored whatever he has and the rest he will score tomorrow. Today Ashwin went ahead.”

Ravichandran Ashwin was the star of the show. The veteran all-rounder scored his sixth Test hundred. Along with making a strong partnership with Ravindra Jadeja, he played an unbeaten knock of 102 runs in 112 balls.

Jadeja praised Ashwin’s exceptional batting display on a crucial time. The former cricketer said, “However, it was enjoyable to watch Ashwin today. Even I will say that, although I am also Jadeja. You have to agree today that the Chennai boy did an amazing job. It’s not that Jadeja was lacking anywhere but when someone has his birthday, you wish him, and similarly, you are wishing Ashwin today.”
