Another disappointment for India. After performing exceptionally well in the group stage and semifinal, India was just disappointed in the final match. The Australian bowler just dominated India in both innings. India didn’t put an adequate amount of run on the board. In the second innings, the Aussie batters dominated the Indian bowlers and named the sixth World Cup trophy. After Australia’s excellent performance, former Indian batter Irfan Pathan talked about Australia’s trick.
Irfan Pathan’s Words:
The most awaited day ended with huge disappointment for the Indian fans. Being unbeaten, India entered in the finals. They defeated all the teams in the group stage and defeated the Kiwis in the semifinal. All the players were in good form. There is a little concern in India’s bowling side and Australia used it in the best way.
In the final match, India was playing with just five bowlers. It was a good point for Australia. The Aussie batters used it perfectly. Former Indian star Irfan Pathan talked about that. He said, “ Australia knows India only has 5 bowling options. They can target any one bowler.”
Australia’s Excellence:
Number sixth registered after Australia’s name. The Aussies become the new world champion. In the final clash, Australia played exceptionally well. Toss was the important factor. Australia captain Pat Cummins won the toss and decided to bowl first. That decision worked for them. Almost the whole Indian batting lineup collapsed. Rohit Sharma started well but missed the well-deserved half-century. Virat Kohli played a sensible knock of 54 runs in 63 balls. KL Rahul played a responsible knock of 66 runs.
The Aussie bowlers were exceptional in the final clash. Mitchel Starc was outstanding. He picked up 3 wickets in 55 runs in crucial moments. Josh Hazelwood took 2 wickets in 60 runs. Pat Cummins took 2 wickets in 34 runs. Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa took 1 wicket each.
Travis Head is the real hero behind Australia’s win. He played a knock of 137 runs in 120 balls. His excellent innings consisted of 15 boundaries and 4 over-boundaries. Marnus Labuschagne remained not out in 58 runs. Indian bowlers didn’t dominate the opponent. Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets in 43 runs. Mohammad Shami took 1 wicket in 47 runs. Mohammed Siraj took 1 wicket in 45 runs. Australia won the match by 6 wickets.
