Back with a bang: The Ben Stokes style

England and New zealand are currently taking on each other in a four match ODi series. The series currently is weighed equally, with each team winning a match each.

In the third ODI, Ben Stokes, arguably the best all-rounder of this generation announced his comeback, with a tumultuous hundred. The english test captain came out of his ODI retirement, in august this year just a couple of months before the World cup.

Announces comeback with his fastest ton

The english superstar smashed 11 fours and 3 sixes to reach his century in just 76 balls. In his retirement reversal series, Stokes recorded his first century in 50-over cricket since 2017.

Batting like team’s man friday, the all rounder smashed 182 off just 124 balls. Which is also the highest score by any english batter in ODI format.

Stokes’ century ranks 12th among the fastest centuries scored by full-member nations in 2023.

Dragging our memories back to 2019, the heroics of Ben Stokes ensured England’s first ever ODI world cup win. Which was no less than a festival for the country, which originated the game of cricket.

With Ben stokes taking on the longer white ball game again, and looking in full groove, is surely  a sight that english fans want to witness just ahead of the world cup in India.

Malan and Stokes unleashing havoc

The hard hitting batter, Dawid Malan and ben stokes together tried to unsettle the kiwi bowling attack. The duo seemed to have an authoritative plan, which they executed brilliantly.

Batting exhilaratingly, Malan fell short of a well deserved 100. He tried to flick away a full length delivery, but ended up feathering the ball to kiwi keeper Tom Latham.

While leaving the new zealand bowlers  scratching their heads, the duo went pass the formidable partnership of Eoin Morgan and Joe Root of 198 against the same opposition in Nottingham in 2015.
