BCCI Reschedules IPL 2025 Mega Auction Start Time to Avoid Clash with Perth Test

The BCCI has rescheduled the IPL 2025 mega auction timing to avoid clashing with the India-Australia Perth Test. The auction will now begin at 3:30 PM IST, ensuring cricket fans worldwide can enjoy both events without overlap. This adjustment highlights BCCI’s dedication to maximising global cricket viewership.

BCCI has made a significant scheduling change. 

The IPL 2025 mega auction start time has been adjusted to prevent a clash with the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy’s first Test in Perth. 

This decision reflects the BCCI‘s commitment to ensuring maximum viewership for both cricketing events.

Timely Adjustment for Global Fans

The two-day IPL 2025 mega auction, initially set to start at 3:00 PM IST, will now begin at 3:30 PM IST. 

This minor shift accommodates the extended playing hours of the Perth Test, which usually concludes around 3:20 PM IST.

This adjustment ensures cricket enthusiasts can enjoy the thrilling auction and the high-stakes Test match without conflict.

The auction, scheduled for November 24 and 25, promises excitement as 577 players, including stars like Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Jos Buttler, go under the hammer. 

Notably, this is the first IPL auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, marking a historic milestone for the league.

This year’s auction is significant, being the second time it’s hosted outside India, following the 2024 mini-auction in Dubai.

Several franchises, including Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, have retained core players. 

Notable names such as MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, and Rashid Khan will continue to represent their respective teams.
