What happened in the last season?

In the IPL 2021 season, the Chennai Super Kings emerged victorious, clinching their fourth title by defeating the Kolkata Knight Riders in the final. This win added to their previous championships in 2010, 2011, and 2018. The final, held at the Dubai International Stadium, was a well-fought contest, showcasing the Chennai Super Kings’ consistent performance throughout the season. Faf du Plessis played a pivotal role in the final, earning the Man of the Match award for his crucial innings. Harshal Patel of the Royal Challengers Bangalore was honored as the Man of the Series for his exceptional performance throughout the season, where he claimed the Purple Cap as the leading wicket-taker. Lucknow Super Giants

Owned by Sanjiv Goenka's RPSG Group, the Lucknow Super Giants entered the IPL fray with high expectations. They aimed to establish themselves as formidable contenders right from their inaugural season, boasting a strong management team and ambitious plans to build a competitive squad.

Gujarat Titans

Owned by the CVC Capital Partners-led consortium, the Gujarat Titans also made their debut in IPL 2022. With a focus on blending cricketing expertise with strategic business acumen, the franchise sought to carve out a distinct identity in the competitive IPL landscape.
