Complete Squad Of Mumbai Indians After WPL 2024 Auction

The much awaited second season of the Women’s Premier League is here with fans awaiting the five franchises to set their teams up for the battle. Mumbai Indians who won the inaugural season of the WPL 2023 is here with its squad by filling all its vacant positions in the auction. The auction was held yesterday on December 9, in Mumbai itself. This season, the tournament will be held in two cities namely Mumbai and Bangalore. 

Harmanpreet Kaur led Mumbai Indians faced Delhi Capitals in the final knockout stage of 2023 which was held at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Well, after a much deserved win in the inaugural edition of the WPL, the franchise witnessed a decent outing not being able to rope in the player they wanted. Nevertheless, they filled all their 5 vacant spots in the mega auction. 

Bidding war with Delhi Capitals

The Ambani-owned franchise was not able to rope in Australian player Annabel Sutherland after they lost the bidding war with 2023 runners up Delhi Capitals. They also did not pick the players from the first two sets but fortunately, it ended up picking right-arm spinner Shabnim Ismail. While Annabel had to be picked up at more than 2 crores, they roped in the spinner for INR 1.2 crores. Along with Ismail, they also roped in the services of Keerthana Balakrishnan, and Fatima Jaffer furtherly.
