Ajinkya Rahane has returned to the Indian Test Cricket Team for the upcoming World Test Championship final against Australia. His consistency in the IPL 2023 and recent performances in the domestic cricket has helped him earn his spot back in the squad. No wonder fans are excited to see him back and ready to welcome the Rahane 2.0.
Indian cricket team is scheduled to play Australia in the World Test Championship final from June 7 at The Oval. The 34-year has impressed one and all recently with his consistent good showings in the ongoing Indian Premier League. Moreover his recent domestic cricket performances especially in the Ranji Trophy have been noteworthy too. Last time he was seen playing for India in January 2022 during the third Test against South Africa. Then was dropped for Indian team at the end of the 2011-22 tour of South Africa after constant failures. But now after some good knocks he is back to the side.
Apart from his good form, the unavailability of Shreyas Iyer seems to have worked in Rahane’s favour. The squad includes Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, K L Rahul, KS Bharat (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, and Jaydev Unadkat.
Fans cannot keep calm and have taken to social media to celebrate the return of the veteran Ajinkya Rahane. Some are calling he has deserved it while some are gearing up to watch Rahane 2.0.
