Harbajan Singh Slams PCB Chief Najam Sethi Ahead Of Latter’s Tweet On Not Changing The Venue

Former Pakistan Cricket Board’s Chairman Najam Sethi, in his tweet, took a dig at India’s ability to beat Babar Azam‘s men. The tweet came ahead of the Asian Cricket Council’s decision to not move the venue from Colombo to Hambantota, provided that Colombo had a bad weather forecast.

It is known that Sri Lanka and Pakistan are co-jointly hosting this season’s Asia Cup. However due to security reasons, Sri Lanka was chosen as the venue for playing all the Super 4 matches of the Asia Cup which were earlier scheduled on Pakistani grounds.

Unpopular opinion shadowed in Najam’s tweet

Ex-PCB Chief Najam Sethi is all displeased about ACC’s conduct of the match between India and Pakistan.

He went on arguing on his twitter handle and claimed that India was afraid to beat Pakistan in their Super 4 clash of the Asia Cup. Najam asserted over the fact that earlier, BCCI/ACC had informed PCB about changing Ind vs Pak match venue to Hambantota ahead of a high possibility of rain forecast. Within an hour, they changed their minds knowing that at any moment, bad weather conditions can loom over Colombo and disrupt the match. He further added, ‘What’s going on? Is India afraid to play and lose to Pakistan? Look at the rain forecast!”.

The tweet saw counter reactions from Indian fans and sparked debate over Najam Sethi claims.

Harbhajan’s hit back over Sethi’s remarks

Launching a daunting attack over Sethi’s allegations, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh drew attention towards Pakistan’s horrible performance against India. He went on to describe India’s phenomenal performance in its Super 4 match against Pakistan and that Men in Blue were able to set a benchmark win against its arch-rivals.

He illustrated various examples of India defeating Pakistan in their past clashes and averred about India beating Pakistan at any venue or situation.

Harbhajan said, ‘I don’t know what he is smoking nowadays, I hope that he saw the kind of performance India put up against his men and got his answer.’ He further challenged him to keep his boys ready for the next game.

He also took a dig at Pakistan’s performance, and presented their execution in the tournament as below par. Their bowling was too weak for a team like India along with a poor batting performance, he added.
