RCB’s Continued Failure:
Hard luck continued for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Even after having a great start, Virat Kohli’s century, their bowling failure cost the match. RCB’s batting excellence was limited by Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 113 runs. Skipper Faf du Plessis was dismissed on 44 runs.
Aussie star Glenn Maxwell struggled again. He walked away after scoring only 1 run. Virat Kohli stayed till the end since the beginning. In a crucial moment, he scored his 8th IPL hundred. But the bowling failure overshadowed it. Some catch drops to conceding runs on crucial points cost the match. They lost their third consecutive match.
The Royal Dominance Shined Again:
After troubling the RCB batters in the first innings. They showed their dominance in the second innings and sealed the fixture. Yuzvendra Chahal shined again after taking 2 wickets in 34 runs. Nandre Burger picked up one.
But the real brilliance was there in the second innings. After Yashasvi Jaiswal walked out early, Sanju Samson and Josh Buttler built a partnership. Samson was dismissed on 69 runs but Buttler played an unbeaten century innings and sealed the fourth consecutive win for Rajasthan.
Points Table Shake Up:
It was a thrilling match which shattered the points table. After this 6-wicket win, Rajasthan Royals dethroned Kolkata Knight Riders and became the table topper of the points table. On the other hand, even after the third defeat, they are still staying at the number eight position.
