However, later in the day, Cricket Australia clarified that the change was made due to “deterioration” without any formal accusation of tampering. No penalties were imposed on Kishan, but the incident set a dramatic tone for the day’s play.

“The ball used in the fourth innings of the match was changed due to deterioration,” a CA spokesperson said. “Both teams’ captain and manager were informed of the decision prior to the start of play. No further action is being taken.”

“I was at the striker’s end when the umpires said they’d changed the ball, I’m not sure what quite for, I didn’t notice any change in the ball personally,”  said Australia A captain Nathan.

Earlier in the match, India A’s Sai Sudharsan and Devdutt Padikkal had delivered crucial innings with 103 and 88 respectively in the second innings, which helped set a competitive target.

However, Australia A’s steady chase on the final day proved decisive, marking a memorable victory.
