The Indian fans are all set to experience the thrills of the classic red ball cricket after a long. After the five-match Test series against England earlier this year, Team India is all set to face Bangladesh in a two-match Test series. In the upcoming Test match, Bangladesh faces a challenge regarding the ball. Litton Das said the team is adjusting to the behavior of SG balls to prepare effectively for the game.
Challenge With the Ball:
There is a big twist in the upcoming Test match. This is a change for Bangladesh, which typically uses Kookaburra balls for home internationals. India uses SG balls for Test cricket, which differs significantly from Kookaburra. To adapt, Bangladesh’s white-ball players are practicing with Kookaburra balls, as the upcoming T20Is in India will also use them.
Bangladeshi player Litton Das revealed their preparation with the SG ball. He said, “The ball will be a different one in India. It is a little harder to play against the SG ball. The Kookaburra ball is easier to play when it gets old. It is the opposite with the SG ball. It is harder to get away against the old ball when it’s the SG.”
Letting Go the Past Series Win:
Before stepping into the Test match, Bangladesh faced Pakistan in a two-match Test series. In that series, they registered a historic win after defeating Pakistan in a 2-0 margin. In both the matches, the Bangladeshi players showcased outstanding domination. Litton Das played a crucial role in securing a win in the second Test match.
But before stepping into the series against Bangladesh, he is aiming a fresh start. He said, “We played good cricket against Pakistan but it is already in the past. It is important for us to look forward. We will need your (media’s) help. It would be helpful if you don’t talk about the Pakistan series. As a player, it is already in the past for me.”

On His Role:
Litton Das plays a key role in Bangladesh’s batting lineup, often having to take risks and play aggressive shots. His knack for making crucial contributions under pressure has been vital for his team. However, he has also demonstrated his ability to play patiently when needed. As the new series approaches, Litton is prepared to once again fulfill his role and deliver for his team.
He said, “I have to take responsibility now. It is the right time. I have been playing for ten years, so there has been some experience. I try to score off deliveries that I believe are there to hit. Scoring runs is more important these days. I think I bat in the same way that most batters approach the game.”
Later he added, “If it gives me more chance to get out, it also gives me a lot of opportunities to score runs. I usually get to bat with (Mehidy Hasan) Miraz. Sometimes I bat with Shakib bhai (Shakib Al Hasan) or Mushfiq bhai (Mushfiqur Rahim). If I don’t play my shots, the team score won’t go anywhere. I want to play like this. I try to play the way I bat in training.”
On Fan’s Expectation:
Behind every team’s goals, fan’s encouragement plays a big role. After the historic series win against Pakistan gave a huge boost to Bangladeshi fans. They celebrated this beyond imagination. As the new series approaches, fans are high on their expectation. Sometimes it may felt like a burden but Litton Das shared a different view over that.
He said, “It is inspiring that people will know you if you do well. There’s nothing better than that. I don’t think it is pressure. We are improving in Tests, so we have to become more consistent in the format. That’s the main challenge.”
