Mayank Yadav’s impact in the LSG team
Mayank Yadav, who was virtually unknown to close observers of domestic cricket in India before the 2024 IPL season, has since made a meteoric rise with his impressive performances for Lucknow SuperGiants. Dahiya noted that Yadav’s mindset and adaptability set him apart, making him a rising star in the league.
However, Yadav’s impact has been somewhat tempered by injuries. After his impressive start, he suffered a side strain that limited his participation in subsequent matches, leading to LSG’s losses against the Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders while he was sidelined. Despite these setbacks, Yadav has already taken six wickets in just three matches, positioning him as a contender for the Purple Cap.
