Hyderabad, October 11, 2024: Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj officially took on his role as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana today. Siraj reported to the Director General of Police (DGP) and was accompanied by MP M. Anil Kumar Yadav and Mohammed Faheemuddin Qureshi, Vice Chairman and President of TGMREIS.
This appointment fulfills a promise made by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who had announced that Siraj would be awarded a prestigious Group-I government position in recognition of his contributions to Indian cricket. Siraj expressed his gratitude towards the Chief Minister for this honor, appreciating the government’s efforts to support sports and athletes in the state.
In his remarks, Chief Minister Reddy reiterated his administration’s commitment to nurturing future sports stars. This includes plans to establish a Sports University aimed at developing athletic talent across Telangana. The vision is to integrate advanced sports facilities throughout the state, with significant progress being made towards the construction of the Young India Sports University.
