It’s not just about batting or bowling in the game of cricket. Fielding is an equally important aspect of the game. A batsman or a bowler might fail on a given day but a good fielder will always save runs and take catches that can change the course of games. Let’s flashback the most catches in IPL.
As they say, “Catches win matches”. Amongst all the acrobatic fielders in the Indian Premier League, Suresh Raina has been arguably one of the top 5 ever. He holds the record for most catches in IPL history. When you want to do well in the field, the ball just follows you. Raina is always found in the right place at the right time. The left-hander has taken 102 catches and some of those are absolutely breathtaking.
And when it’s about fielding, AB de Villiers is never too far behind. He is No.2 on the list 84 catches. Just like Raina, de Villiers has pulled off some stunning catches over the years. Rohit Sharma is third on the list with 83 catches. Even though Rohit is not as agile as Raina, yet he is one of the safest catchers in the outfield.
