Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi convened a critical meeting on Sunday to address the national Test team’s recent poor performance and fitness issues. 

The two-hour meeting, held with the selection committee and team mentors, followed Pakistan’s consecutive Test series defeats against England and Bangladesh, raising concerns about the team’s form and future.

A major point of focus was the players’ fitness levels, which were identified as a key reason behind Pakistan’s lacklustre performance. 

Pakistan’s recent defeats, including a 3-0 whitewash against England and a previous 2-0 loss to Bangladesh, have resulted in six consecutive Test losses, dropping the team to No. 9 in the ICC rankings.

The selection committee suggested potential changes to the squad, while Naqvi and the mentors agreed to complete fitness assessments of the players before the current series concludes.
