Rajasthan Royals‘ young star Yashasvi Jaiswal had a dream come true moment when he met Bollywood legend and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan after his team’s thrilling victory over KKR on Tuesday night. The Royals scripted history by equalling their previous record of the highest run-chase in IPL history (224) with this win.
The post-match celebrations at Eden Gardens were in full swing, and amidst the joyous atmosphere, Jaiswal expressed his desire to meet Shah Rukh Khan. In a heartwarming moment captured on social media, the two embraced each other, and Jaiswal was seen beaming with happiness as he shared a laugh with the actor. Rajasthan Royals captioned the post, “Bas itna sa khawab (just this dream),” highlighting the fulfillment of the youngster’s dream.
The encounter between Jaiswal and Shah Rukh Khan was reminiscent of a scene from SRK’s movie Om Shanti Om, where he says, “Itni shiddat se maine tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai, shayad har zarre ne mujhe tumse milane ki saazish ki hai (I have tried to attain you with such intensity, perhaps every particle has conspired to unite me with you).”
Fans on social media expressed their delight at seeing Jaiswal fulfill an ordinary man’s dream by meeting SRK. Despite being 121/6 at one stage during the chase, Jos Buttler’s stunning century turned the game around for the Royals. Buttler’s heroics, along with a remarkable feat of scoring 96 runs in the last six overs in a run chase, led the Royals to a dramatic victory, chasing down the highest successful total in IPL history and maintaining their position as table-toppers in IPL 2024.
