“I think the ’83 Team is very conscious of our younger players. They are like our sons. We are very concerned about our cricketers, particularly when fortune deserts them. So, I don’t think the word I want to help him is right,” Gavaskar told during an interaction on India Today.

Balwinder Singh Sandhu, another member of the 1984 team elaborated on their readiness to assist financially. Sandhu revealed that Kapil Dev has proposed to fund Kambli’s rehabilitation process if he voluntarily checks into a rehab center.
