The Indian cricket team, consisting of primarily young players is on a tour of Zimbabwe. The T20I series has 5 matches in total, out of which 3 have been played. The India tour of Zimbabwe started on 6 July with a T20 match between the two teams at Harare sports club. In the first match, India won the toss, yet lost the match by 13 runs. In the second match, India scored a whopping 234/2 in 20 overs. Zimbabwe got restricted to a total score of 134 runs, losing the match by a huge margin. In the 3rd match India scored 182/4 in the first innings. In the second innings, Zimbabwe scored 159/6, losing the match by 23 runs.

The fourth match was played at the same venue. However, there is a shift in the Indian team as Avesh Khan is no longer in today’s playing XI. India won the toss, and opted to bowl first. Zimbabwe scored 152/7 and the men in blue chased the score, getting 156/0 in 15.2 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal became the Player Of The Match.

“This is a great team” Shubman Gill says

Today’s match was undoubtedly a thrilling performance given by the young Yashasvi Jaiswal in the batting, while the bowlers did what grey did best.

After winning the match, team India’s captain Shubman Gill addressed the audience in the post match ceremony.

Shubman emphasised how important it was for the team to win a match while chasing runs. India lost the first match against Zimbabwe while chasing runs, after which they won 2 matches after batting first.

“Chasing was one thing we were talking about because we were not able to do that in the first T20. It feels good but the job is not done, we have one more game.” Shubman said.

Gill also spoke well of his boys, claiming it to be a “great” team. Speaking about whether the lineup is expected to shift in the final match of the series, Shubman said that he has not discussed it with the coach yet.

“This is a great team. I haven’t had the discussion with the coach and if there are any changes then I will let you know at the toss.” He added.
