Head Coach Gautam Gambhir Steps In to Help Yashasvi Jaiswal Tackle Pace Troubles at Nets

The Indian team is hustling hard in the nets ahead of the series against Bangladesh. From September 19, both teams are set to lock horns in a two-match Test series, Chennai is all set to host the first Test. Before the series began, the team faced a problem as young batter Yashasvi Jaiswal was facing troubles while facing pace. Then Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir steps in.

Jaiswal’s Pace Woes:

After a long time, the red ball cricket is coming back to Indian soil. They are all set to face Bangladesh in a two-match Test series. After facing England in a five-match Test series earlier this year, the Indian team set for their next assignment. Before that, the squad was hit by a setback as Yashasvi Jaiswal is facing problems against fast bowling.

Jaiswal had a standout series against England earlier this year and is currently facing challenges with his form. Reports indicate that Jaiswal struggled during a recent training session against fast bowlers. The session took place at the center square, and even Virat Kohli stepped in to offer advice but could not alleviate Jaiswal’s difficulties.

Jaiswal faced the Indian fast-bowling unit but was not at his best. The report highlights that Bumrah managed to sneak one through between bat and pad, while Akash troubled Jaiswal with deliveries moving away. Despite the guidance from seniors, he is still yet to come out from those setbacks.

Coach Gambhir Steps In:

Given Jaiswal’s recent struggles, Head Coach Gautam Gambhir decided to step in. Gambhir worked with Jaiswal at the nets, where he faced throw-downs. This was part of a focused effort to help Jaiswal get back to his best.

With the upcoming series against Bangladesh, Jaiswal’s batting issues could become a significant topic. If he shows any signs of weakness, the pressure on him may increase. During his net session, Jaiswal spent near about 20 minutes facing throw-downs, aiming to improve his technique and focus on getting behind the line of the ball.
