It was absolute carnage in Hyderabad when Sunrisers Hyderabad took on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 11th match of the season. The hosts utterly thumped the opposition and not even for a single moment, the visitors had an upper hand.
Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to field and it turned out to be a decision he would regret for days to come. The SRH openers Jonny Bairstow and David Warner put up a show of sheer power. The first over went for 14 runs and there was no stopping thereafter. From the powerplay, the duo collected 59 runs.
It didn’t just end there. The batsmen didn’t show any mercy and there were constant explosions from either end. In just 10 overs, they added 105 runs. In the 16th over, Bairstow notched up his maiden century in just his 3rd game in IPL.
After scoring 114 from just 56 balls, he fell to Yuzvendra Chahal in the 17th over. The partnership of 185 finally ended. Vijay Shankar was the 2nd wicket to fall for 9. But there was one more thing pending. In the last over, Warner too reached the 3-figure mark off 55 balls. SRH finished with a massive 231/2 from 20 overs.
RCB needed a good start to reach anywhere near the target. But they got off to the worst start possible. Parthiv Patel, Shimron Hetmeyer, AB de Villiers got out inside the powerplay. Mohammad Nabi was the destructor as he bagged all 3 wickets.
To make matters worse, Kohli and Moeen Ali got out off successive balls. Shivam Dube too fell in the 8th over. RCB was down to 35/6 even before Rashid Khan was introduced into the attack. There was no hope left for the visitors. Colin de Grandhomme batted alongside the tail-enders for the remainder of the innings. But all they did was delayed the inevitable.

#DavidWarner is showing what can be done when you channelise all the criticism and negative energy to one positive direction. It should be a great second half.. #SRHvRCB #VIVOIPL
