IPL 2023: Ben Stokes to miss the playoffs due to this reason

Ben Stokes, an all-rounder for Chennai Super Kings, will reportedly go home following CSK’s final league match in IPL 2023. CSK is making a strong effort to qualify for the IPL 2023 Playoffs. The IPL 2023 Points table has Chennai, a four-time champion, in second place with 15 points after 13 games.

Ben Stokes participated in two games for Chennai this season before suffering a toe injury that kept him out of action. The all-rounder from England took part in CSK’s first two matches, one against Gujarat Titans and the other against Lucknow Super Giants. He had a problem with his injuries. Stokes will return home after CSK’s final league match against Delhi Capitals on May 20, according to ESPNCricinfo.

Despite suffering a defeat at the hands of KKR in their last league stage game, he also said that CSK is likely to start the same lineup in the upcoming match. The head coach of CSK also discussed Ben Stokes’ injury. Despite Stokes’ current bowling difficulties, according to Fleming, the squad has decided to keep him as a batting cover.

Fleming said

“Ben’s ability to bowl overs at the moment is still a bit of a challenge, but he’s there as that batting cover. But with Moeen bowling well in good conditions – we go to Delhi which has been turning – we think the balance of the side has been right. And look, we’re second on the table, so it’s not our style to chop and change just because we’ve had a loss where things didn’t go our way. We won’t do that. We might tinker with it but we’re very focused on getting the right team for Delhi Capitals,” Fleming said.

The fact that England will play Ireland in a one-off Test and then Australia in the renowned Ashes series, both of which begin in June, may possibly be a hindrance. When Stokes was on duty for England in a Test series against New Zealand, he had a knee problem. He has previously said he wanted to leave the IPL early so he could get ready for the lone Test against Ireland and the Ashes.

“Yes, I’ll play,” Stokes said on being asked if he will play the Ireland Test. “I’ll make sure that I give myself enough time to get back and play that game,” he added. Stokes suffered a toe injury and was sidelined from CSK’s team after playing two games. As stated by Fleming earlier, he received another little setback.
