In a significant move ahead of IPL 2025, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have appointed Sridharan Sriram as their Assistant Bowling Coach. The former India all-rounder brings extensive coaching experience from international and franchise cricket, making him a valuable addition to CSK’s already formidable coaching setup.

Sridharan Sriram’s Coaching Journey: From International to IPL Success

Sridharan Sriram has built an impressive coaching career over the years, working with top international teams and IPL franchises. His experience includes:

Assistant Coach for Australia (2016-2022): Worked with the Australian team, contributing to their strategy and development.

Bangladesh T20 Consultant (2022-2023): Guided Bangladesh in the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup. Later, he returned as Technical Consultant before the ODI World Cup 2023.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) – Key Coaching Role

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) – Assistant Coach for IPL 2024

At CSK, Sriram will replace Dwayne Bravo, who has moved to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as their mentor.

CSK’s Bowling Setup for IPL 2025

With Sriram joining CSK, the franchise aims to revamp its bowling department, especially the spin attack. CSK’s IPL 2025 squad features an impressive lineup of bowlers, including:

Spin Attack:

Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravindra Jadeja

Shreyas Gopal

Noor Ahmad

Deepak Hooda (All-rounder)

Rachin Ravindra (All-rounder)

Pace Attack:

CSK is expected to bolster their pace attack with additional signings or key players stepping up.

Sriram’s expertise in spin coaching will be crucial for CSK’s strategy on slow tracks like Chepauk, where spinners play a pivotal role.

CSK’s IPL 2025 Campaign: Can They Bounce Back?

CSK had a disappointing IPL 2024 season, finishing fifth on the points table with seven wins and seven losses. Despite being tied on 14 points with fourth-placed RCB, CSK missed out on playoffs due to an inferior net run rate.

With IPL 2025 kicking off on March 22, CSK will look to start strong and reclaim their dominance under MS Dhoni’s leadership. Their first match is against Mumbai Indians (MI) on March 23 at home, setting the stage for an exciting rivalry.

What Does Sridharan Sriram Bring to CSK?

Deep Tactical Understanding of T20 Cricket – Worked with international teams and IPL franchises.

Proven Spin-Bowling Expertise – Has coached top-tier spinners across different conditions.

Winning Mindset – Part of teams that have consistently performed at the highest level.

With CSK bolstering their backroom staff, fans will be eager to see how Sriram’s insights help the team execute their bowling strategies in IPL 2025.
