Women’s T20 World Cup: India To Open Campaign Against New Zealand 

The Indian women’s cricket team is the center of attention as they begin their T20 World Cup campaign against New Zealand. Will their first game allow them to make a big impression?

India To Open The Campaign 

India will play its opening match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 at Dubai on October 4 against New Zealand, and on October 6 at the same venue, it will play its bitter rivals, Pakistan. The Women in Blue will conclude the group stage with a high-stakes match against reigning champions Australia in Sharjah on October 13. India’s third match is set to take place on October 9 against Sri Lanka in Dubai once more. The Women’s T20 World Cup, which was originally slated to take place in Bangladesh, was moved a few weeks ago to the United Arab Emirates.

Two warm-up matches between India and the West Indies and South Africa are slated to take place at the ICC Academy grounds on September 29 and October 1, respectively, prior to the commencement of the event. The women’s 10-team competition will include two semifinals on October 17 and 18, respectively, in Dubai and Sharjah, with the final scheduled for October 20 in Dubai.

ICC Women T20 World Cup 

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, which was shifted from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on August 20, has revised schedules, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC). October 3–October 20 in Dubai and Sharjah is when the competition will take place. The best 10 women’s teams in the world will compete in 23 matches, split into two groups of five players each.

Group B is made up of Bangladesh, England, South Africa, West Indies, and Scotland; Group A is made up of the reigning champion Australia, India, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka. Every squad will participate in four group stages, with the top two teams moving on to the semifinals. Ten practice matches will be held at the Sevens Stadium and the ICC Academy grounds in Dubai prior to the competition.
