The legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has poured his wishes on the Indian team that is battling it out in Sri Lanka. He said that he will always support the team whether it wins or loses. There are bound to be a few bad games but his support will never diminish.
“Our good wishes are always with the (Indian) team. Be it men’s team or women’s team,” Sachin told reporters ahead of the first ODI in Dambulla.
“Our good wishes are there, we will go with them, whether their performance is good or it is little less than our expectations. I will say that we will continue to support the team and I expect that you are there with me,” the Master Blaster added.
Virat Kohli & Co. are currently taking part in a 5-match ODI series in Sri Lanka. They had earlier enforced a thumping 3-0 whitewash over the island nation. The legend’s good wishes would come as a boost to the players especially youngsters who are aspiring to cement their places in the side.
Tendulkar promotes fitness
Sachin Tendulkar has always been a prime supporter of fitness. Being a sportsperson himself, he understands the importance of staying fit in life. He has promoted several marathons in his hometown Mumbai as well as other cities in India. He was present at the IDBI Federal Life Insurance Mumbai Half Marathon in the suburban Bandra Kurla Complex for which he flagged off the 10K and 5K marathons.
“We are talking about the good health of our nation and clearly in sometime, we are going to have healthier people around, because it is about living a healthy lifestyle, being fit, being more active and what is going to happen after that is something that we can be proud of. Because I believe that good fitness will always bring more consistent and better results in whatever you want to be in life,” Tendulkar added.
