Early Life
Dwayne Bravo was born on
October 7, 1983, in
Santa Cruz, Trinidad and Tobago. He grew up in a cricket-loving family and was heavily influenced by
Brian Lara, one of the greatest West Indian cricketers of all time.
Bravo was an exceptional athlete from a young age, excelling in
both football and cricket. However, his passion for cricket was evident early on, and he dedicated himself to becoming an all-rounder.
His younger
half-brother, Darren Bravo, also went on to represent the West Indies and was often compared to Brian Lara due to his elegant batting style.
Domestic Career
Bravo made his
first-class debut for
Trinidad and Tobago in
2002 against Barbados. Initially a top-order batter, he showcased his bowling skills in early domestic seasons.
His breakthrough moment came when he
scored his maiden first-class century and followed it up with a brilliant
6-wicket haul against Windward Islands. This performance established him as a genuine all-rounder and earned him a place in the
