Last season, Mumbai Indians invested heavily in Ishan Kishan and Jofra Archer intending to create a squad for the future. They performed similar acts of valor once more, this time shelling out an astounding Rs. 17.50 crore to sign Australian all-rounder Cameron Green. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals engaged in a bidding battle before MI ultimately won the major player.
Green also rose to the position of the second-most expensive player in IPL history. He began by registering himself for Rs. 2 crores, but he later broke records. Jhye Richardson was added by MI at a basic cost of INR 1.5 crore in addition to Green. Piyush Chawla, Duan Jansen, Shams Mulani, Nehal Vadhera, and Vishnu Vinod were later recruited to their squad at their base costs.
The bowling looks very weak in the absence of Indian spearhead Jasprit Bumrah and Australian sensation Jhye Richardson. They have to heavily rely on the services of Jofra Archer who is just making his comeback to competitive cricket.
