Jhye Richardson ruled Out of BBL with Injury

Perth Scorchers’ fast bowler Jhye Richardson has suffered a setback as he has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the Big Bash League (BBL) due to a left side strain. This injury also casts doubt on his availability for the upcoming ODI series against West Indies scheduled next month.

Richardson experienced discomfort after the Scorchers’ game against Brisbane Heat at the Gabba. Subsequent scans revealed the extent of his injury, leading to his withdrawal from the BBL.

Despite an average performance in the current season, where he claimed six wickets at an economy rate of 9.18, Richardson had earned a recall to the Australian squad for the upcoming ODIs against West Indies. However, this injury setback raises concerns about his participation in the series.

Throughout his career, Richardson has grappled with various injuries, including shoulder dislocations that required surgery, limiting his ability to throw properly in the outfield. His recent signing with Delhi Capitals at the IPL auction adds to his upcoming commitments once he recovers.
