The Mumbai Indians have unveiled their team theme song for the upcoming season on social media today. The song features some of the biggest names in Indian cricket, including legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar and current Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma. The team is known for its success in the IPL, having won the tournament a record five times, and their new theme song is sure to get fans excited for the upcoming season.
Yeh Hai Mumbai Meri Jaan
The 30-second video released by the Mumbai Indians features a musical compilation of the iconic song “Ye Hai Bombay Meri Jaan” from the 1956 Dev Anand starrer CID. The song, with its catchy lyrics “Zara Hat Ke, Zara Bach Ke… Ye Hain Mumbai Meri Jaan” (Stay a little clear, Stay a little safe… This is Mumbai my dear), serves as a lyrical warning to their rivals ahead of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League.
Mumbai had a rather disappointing season last year as they finished at the bottom of the points table last year. Thus, these lyrics are not just a warning to opponents, but a motivation to all Mumbai players that it is time to let go of the past and fight harder this season.
Big Faces in the video
The Mumbai Indians’ new team theme song video prominently features some of the biggest names associated with the franchise. Former Mumbai Indians captain and cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, who is now part of the team’s think tank, can be seen in the video alongside team co-owner Nita Ambani.
Current captain Rohit Sharma and other members of the team including Tilak Verma, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav are also featured prominently in the video. Interestingly, the video also features Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar, who is a member of the Mumbai Indians squad for the upcoming season of the IPL. The inclusion of these prominent figures associated with the team in the video is likely to generate excitement and anticipation among fans ahead of the IPL season.
