In a remarkable initiative to promote road safety and prevent accidents, the Road Safety World Series (RSWS) UK is all set to kick off its highly anticipated tournament at the Uptonsteel County Ground in Leicester, running from September 23rd to October 1st, 2023. This sporting extravaganza brings together cricket’s beloved legends from England, India, Australia, Sri Lanka, and debutants Pakistan for a thrilling nine-day T20 tournament. 

A Spectacular Start: 

The tournament’s action-packed journey begins with an electrifying clash between Australia and Pakistan, promising fans an exciting showdown right from the start. Following that, cricket enthusiasts can look forward to a double-header Super Sunday on September 24th, featuring England facing off against Australia and India taking on Sri Lanka. 

As the excitement builds throughout the tournament, fans can mark their calendars for the grand finale on Sunday, October 1st. The top two sides will battle it out for supremacy, culminating in what promises to be a thrilling climax to the UK RSWS. 

Legends United for a Safer Cause: 

This prestigious event has gained the official approval of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), solidifying its status as an international sporting spectacle. Notably, the 2023 edition of the RSWS UK marks a historic moment as Pakistan’s cricketing heroes join the lineup, all in support of the larger cause – spreading awareness about road safety. 

Searn Jarvis, CEO of Leicestershire, expressed delight in hosting this prestigious series at the Uptonsteel County Ground. The venue has a rich heritage of hosting international cricket, and fans can expect a box-office tournament that reunites cricketing legends from across the globe.

Originating in India, the Road Safety World Series has already completed successful editions in the same country. Now, it ventures beyond borders, bringing the spirit of road safety and the thrill of cricket to the United Kingdom. Beyond the cricketing action, the RSWS serves as a platform for some of cricket’s greatest legends to unite for a single cause:  creating a safer environment on the roads and preventing road accidents.

Tournament Format: 

The Road Safety World Series 2023 follows the same format as an average franchise league. All five teams will play round-robin games, competing against each other. This season, Pakistan Legends are set to feature in RSWS for the first time. 

The top four teams from an eight-team field will compete in the semi-finals, with the top two semi-finalists advancing to the finals. The RSWS 2023 Point Table shows which teams are in the Top 4.
