Virat Kohli’s celebration against Punjab Kings went viral in no time. His aggressive celebration in front of PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer in Chandigarh after RCB’s win by seven wickets. Kohli’s franchise also joined the bandwagon following the same and took a dig at the hosts.
Two years ago, Virat Kohli collaborated with Norwegian dance group Quick Style for a short dance video. On Friday after beating RCB, the social media influencers working with PBKS, posted a parody clip of the same dance video. On Sunday, after winning the revenge encounter, the Bangalore franchise posted the original video with the caption saying, “Every masterpiece has a copy. Stick to the original. Enjoy. #PlayBold”.
Meanwhile, Kohli became the Player of the Match as he registered his fourth half-century of the IPL 2025. In the chase of 158, Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal added 103 runs for the second wicket after Phil Salt was dismissed early. This helped RCB claim a major win and Kohli scripted another record with his fifty. He surpassed Australia’s David Warner for the most 50-plus scores in the history of the league.
After winning the match, Kohli said, “Very important game for us.” He continued, “When you go from eight (points) to 10, it makes a massive difference.” He further explained, “One partnership is good enough in T20 cricket during run chase. I can accelerate, but I want to understand the strengths of other players. Holding one end up at the moment, that’s working for us.”
Interestingly despite losing all of their home matches this season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru continue to stay at the third place of the points table. This has been possible because of their tremendous form outside of home. Their win against PBKS was RCB’s fifth straight consecutive win away from home. With 10 points from eight matches, RCB are one of top contenders in IPL 2025.
