In addition to unveiling the new jersey, SRH announced the appointment of former New Zealand spinner Daniel Vettori as the team’s head coach for IPL 2024, marking a significant change in leadership dynamics. The team management also decided to change the captaincy, appointing Australian all-rounder Pat Cummins as the new captain.

SRH, which won the IPL title in 2016 under the leadership of star Australian opener David Warner, has been restructuring its squad to reclaim the coveted trophy. Despite reaching the finals in the 2018 edition under the leadership of New Zealand batter Kane Williamson, SRH aims to make a strong comeback with strategic player acquisitions and tactical maneuvers.

Before the IPL 2024 auction, SRH made significant squad adjustments, releasing players like Harry Brook, Kartik Tyagi, Adil Rashid, Akeal Hossein, and Samarth Vyas. The franchise also engaged in trading, swapping Mayank Dagar to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in exchange for Shahbaz Ahmed.

During the IPL 2024 auction, SRH secured key players through strategic bids, including Cummins for Rs. 20.50 crore, Travis Head for Rs. 6.8 crore, Jaydev Unadkat for Rs. 1.6 crore, Wanindu Hasaranga for Rs. 1.5 crore, Akash Singh, and Jhathavedh Subramanyan for Rs. 20 lakhs each.

With the unveiling of their new jersey and a revamped squad, Sunrisers Hyderabad is gearing up for an electrifying campaign in the upcoming IPL 2024 season, as they aim to ignite the tournament with their fiery performances on the field.
