Andhra Premier League 2024 Kicks Off on June 30th: Squads, Venue, Schedule, Streaming and All You Need to Know

The wait is over for cricket fans in Andhra Pradesh! The much-anticipated third season of the Andhra Premier League (APL) is all set to begin on June 30th, 2024. Organized by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA), the league will see six teams vying for glory in a two-week-long tournament.

Defending Champions Face Off Against 2022 Winners in Opening Match

The season kicks off with a high-voltage clash between defending champions Rayalaseema Kings and 2022 winners Coastal Riders in a rematch of last year’s finals. The opening match will be played on June 30th at 6:30 PM IST at the Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Round Robin Matches Followed by Knockout Stages

All 19 matches of the APL 2024 will be played at the same venue in Visakhapatnam. The league stage will follow a single round-robin format, where each team plays every other team once. The top four teams from the round-robin stage will then progress to the knockout playoffs.

The knockout stages will begin on July 11th with the Eliminator, followed by Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2. The winner of Qualifier 1 will directly qualify for the final, while the loser will get another shot at glory through Qualifier 2. The winner of Qualifier 2 will then take on the winner of Qualifier 1 in the much-awaited final on July 13th.

The APL 2024 features a good mix of young talent and experienced players. Some of the key players to watch out for include:

• India wicket-keeper batter KS Bharat: A rising star in Indian cricket, Bharat will be a crucial player for his team.

• Ricky Bhui: The top run-scorer in the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season, Bhui’s batting prowess could be a game-changer.
